I started doing smocking in year 2000. I attended a formal lesson for about 3 weeks in total . The class was conducted by a friend of mine who also taught me the basic tailoring. I have been interested in tailoring since I was young.
Upon finishing the formal training, I started with taking orders for adult dresses especially women dress then eventually doing dresses for the children. Despite finding it more difficult and challenging doing dresses for the young , I enjoyed it very much especially when it comes to the time when they collects the dress and trying it.It is always a very satisfying feeling when the kids loves the dress and the parents are satisfied with the workmanship. From time to time, to improve my skill and methods of smocking, I reads and refers to a few books and magazines.
